Sam Bezjak is a second year graduate student at the Truman School of Public Affairs at the University of Missouri. He graduated from the Missouri School of Journalism in May of 2016 with an emphasis in strategic communications. As he realized that he wanted to pursue a career in public service, Sam decided to pursue an MPA through the Truman School. Sam’s research interests include organizational culture, the differences between toxic and effective leadership, the role effective communication plays in the workplace, and analysis of pop culture. His academic interests stem from various experiences working for and volunteering with government and nonprofit organizations, as well as a capstone consulting project where he helped design an integrated marketing strategy for a non profit organization. Eventually he hopes to work with either poverty alleviation or criminal justice and research effective methods to combat those issues.
